Software for the analysis unit in the railcar
The work is the code that sits in the railcar: it has to keep running while the railcar moves, in a tight box, without sending a raw stream out. You own the runtime on the analysis unit — packing the process, talking to cameras and sensors, keeping latency low enough for the control room, and a unit that survives a restart in a tunnel.
You should already have shipped software that shares a machine with other hungry processes. Concurrent work is the daily texture, not a textbook chapter. Linux on a small board, a container if it helps, and a calm hand when a stream stutters. A video pipeline or a model on the device helps; it is not a gate.

Operator liaison after install
Once a railcar is fitted, someone stays with the people in the control room until the alerts are actually used. That is this role. You take an operator from the first live event to a week that feels ordinary: the kit arrived, the desk can see a frame, a scenario is on, and noise is not drowning the shift.
You have already done close post-install work with technical buyers — IT, operations, or a control room. You can read usage without turning it into dashboard theatre, and sit in a review without a script written in advance.

Stock, shipping and preparing kit for railcars
Railcars need boxes that actually arrive, serials that match the shelf, and a unit that was imaged and checked before it left. This role moves that kit: inbound, outbound, between sites, and through the paperwork a border asks for. You keep stock honest, talk to freight people, and do the dull, critical prep — image the box, power it, see that it boots.
You have already run shipping and inventory with your own hands. Comfort with servers or networking gear is expected; you do not need to be the person who wrote the software. English enough to chase a crate with a partner abroad.
